Yet she prefers free-for-summer high-school kid (actually in his mid-twenties) James Daughton, the Dugan of ANIMAL HOUSE the same year, alongside sidekick Michael Luther, quickly paired with THE POM POM GIRLS loose cheerleader Susan Player while it takes Daughton the entire movie to bed down Lankford, so genuinely girl-next-door cute she doesn't need any nude scenes, and is understandably worth the wait...

A loose comedy exploitation venturing from the titular daylight locale onto various nighttime parties/trysts, MALIBU BEACH is a replica of the follow years' VAN NUYS BLVD without the outrageously random distractions...
The only goal here's that the right guy lands the right girl while a stoned cop keeps getting stoned, and gorgeous cult starlet Tara Strohmeier plays her usual dream-girl-who-will-do-anything in an anything-goes hangout beach flick where (unlike others of its kind) some of the superfluous fun actually matters.
