With a perpetual sour-puss/cat-like expression, resembling a young Carrie Fisher in a foul mood, unlike TENEBRAE, Lara Wendel's not given enough to do but wait around for her boyfriend, particularly unfitting as a final girl (actually surviving alongside gothic Mary Sellers)... yet it's nice hearing her own lovely voice, speaking with broken English instead of that awful English dubbing that usual mars these otherwise semi-spooky imports...
This one a combination of house-possession-thriller and body-count slasher, where the most effective ingenue is one-movie-wonder Kate Silver, a petite and adorable hybrid of Ally Sheedy and Olivia Barash, far more game to what's going on inside that lethally possessed manor that harbors enough violent payoff — to turn your bad-movie-night into a nice little super-low-budget surprise.
