JACQELINE ELLIS RETURNS ON 'THE SAINT' WITH ROGER MOORE

Jacqueline Ellis & Hugh McDermott in The Saint: The Golden Frog Year: 1965 Grade: C—

Second episode of THE SAINT where Jacqueline Ellis... the cute British actress who starred in British Film Noirs ranging from ACCIDENTAL DEATH, THE TRAITORS and THE HI-JACKERS... is teamed with an older man, holed-up in a posh hotel, attempting to con a rich man...

In this case it's Roger Moore's Simon Templar, pretending to be a buyer in search of the titular GOLDEN FROG... and this time the location's South America instead of San Fransisco from an eclectic series that always changed locales...

Herein Jacqueline Ellis plays the wife of so-called scientist Hugh McDermott, and the episode ventures into the jungles, resembling a somewhat cheap exterior set paling to the genuinely illustrious interiors...

Sadly, their con game, eventually involving local revolutionaries, while having the potential for gator-wading action, falls pretty flat... but it's great seeing the lovely Ellis here again, and this time she's Templar's love-interest... until she isn't.
